Fairways
With the good weather continuing we have begun to cut the fairways and in some cases reshape a couple of areas e.g. The 2nd fairway is now 1 fairway instead of being split into 2 sections. There is some grass clippings lying as it is there first cut of the year but they will tidy up after another cut. It's only the back 9 left to cut.

Green collars
We have a cored green collars on 2,6,10,12&13 with 5/8 tines, these collars have been quite soft so we will remove some thatch and brush sand into the holes, this will aid to firm them up. We have not actually gone on the green with the bigger tine.

15/2/2012
Busy day at Piperdam, we got the 17th pond sealed again and filled. The back of the 10th green on the collar has also been very soft, we forked holes into the turf and then pushed top dressing into the holes and dressed the whole area. This will hope help to get some moisture away and also give somewhere for the grass roots to grow into.

Hawthorns
We have planted some young hawthorns along the out of bounds on the left hand side of the the 15th fairway before the corner. There are already a few hawthorns along this line, we have filled in the gaps so eventually it will give a nice uninterrupted feature giving good definition.

White frost
Could all golfers please stay off the greens when we are on winter course. This is especially more important during white frost as this could have lasting damage on the plant leave. There is a chance that the grass will not recover until it grows out and until then we will have black then yellow feet/trolley marks on the greens.
Below is a picture of the putting green where a golfer has walked across pulling a trolley.
